THERE were mixed fortunes for Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League clubs in Worcester Royal Infirmary Cups last weekend.

Three sides made progress, while the same number made second round exits.

Upton Snodsbury and Moreton Town both faced extra-time with the former losing to the only goal against Hayley Green Harriers but Town edging out Sportsman United by the odd goal of five.

Ambassador took the lead against Hymatic and Allendale through Martin Schembri but a three-goal salvo just prior to half-time ended any hopes the top flight outfit might have had of county glory.

There was better news from Pershore and Badsey where goals from Davis and Guscott helped Town defeat Alve-church S & S and two from Ian Langstone steered the Rec Club home against Turks Head.

Defford and Desford, meanwhile, lost 3-1 at Express 88.

The top game in the first division saw a Nick Burrows strike separate Willersey and winners Offenham Rovers. Mickleton got the better of Evesham WMC after a seven-goal thriller in the Cotswolds, while Moreton Wanderers were made to work hard for a 3-2 win at Inkberrow.

Bidford continue to lead the way in Division Two as goals from Brett and Matthew Gre-en, Phil Layton and Ian Ellis helped see off Lower Moor.

Red Horse hit three without reply at home to Mountinneers, while Bredon and Broadway failed to find a goal between them.

Norgen were the day's highest scorers with seven at Pebworth, while Hampton WMC banged in six at home to Bengeworth United.
