IN reply to Mr Rosier's letter in last week's Journal, I would like to say - I have heard everything now. Not content with proposed road closures all connected with the bypass - which incidentally surrounding districts helped them achieve, now a river bypass!
How selfish can such a small village be. Shutting off the road is one thing, now the river as well. While their peace and seclusion is increasing their house prices, they should spare a thought for their neighbours, who have inherited all the traffic, huge street lights at the entrance to their village, and now gypsies, all connected to the Wyre bypass.
Mr R. whatever side of the fence you are, you are too late for April 2003 and far too early for 2004. Please remember that whom-ever-so perpetuates the prank, being out of time, is the biggest fool. I hereby rest my case.
Steve Cooper, also writing in last week's paper, is quite right. Cars parked on the bend and on the 30 mile sign, has got to be against the law. When I questioned one of the culprits, I was told that the police agreed it was okay as it would create a chicane, and after all Wyre was just a sleepy little village. Since when! I have only been in the area 23 years, but Wyre has never been a Brigadoon, nor will it ever be - remember that was a mythical, magical place.
Come on Wyre be reasonable - there are other people in the world.
MRS A MILLER, Wayfield, Lower Moor, Pershore.
