EVESHAM rock star Jim Capaldi, one of the founder members and songwriter of Traffic will be playing at Worcester's Marr's Bar this Sunday.
The birth of Traffic took place in the mid 60s when Jim's band Deep Feeling, played The Elbow Room in Birmingham.
Steve Winwood often came along to their gigs to jam, Jim and Steve's friendship grew, and Traffic wasborn.
Apart from the band's 10-album multi-platinum career fuelled by Jim's writing partnership with Steve, Jim has enjoyed a solo career with 11 solo albums.
In 1975, Jim had a worldwide hit with Love Hurts, that was followed into the charts by Eve, and It's All Up To You.
And while he was working on his 12th solo album, Steve called to ask for his input on a forthcoming Winwood solo album which was, in fact, to become Traffic's return to the scene.
The band reformed in 1993, and released their album Far From Home the following year whcih swiftly led to a five month tour of America.
In 1998, when the musician was back in America, he met up again with another of Traffic's co-founders ,Dave Mason, and the pair toured extensively in the states.
Catch Jim and his band at the Marr's Bar, Pierpoint Street on Sunday.
He will be supported by special guest Guy Maile, a gritty vocalist and guitar player who is hotly tipped to rise to prominence just as his friend David Gray did, two years ago.
