A NEW group will be paying tribute to mega-star Bob Dylan, hoping to wow Worcester audiences.
Pete Unwin has formed the group The Magazine Husbands for what will be the second Bob Dylan Celebration Night at The Marr's Bar.
Pete's band, The George Cowley Experience, originally headlined at the Dylan night last year, which included poetry, acoustic and electric music.
This time, Pete will be playing with The Magazine Husband's, which consists of members of local bands in Worcester.
The band's name was chosen from a line in Dylan's, Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands.
He suggests The Magazine Husbands probably refers to the elegant gentlemen seen adorning fashion and lifestyle magazines.
"You know when you open Vogue - well we are opposite to the men in there!," he says.
This year's show will be similar to the format of last year's, which was well-received.
The Magazine Husbands will open and close the evening with nine other acts in between.
Other artists on the bill are The Outfit, Poor Bob, Jimmy Frame, Andy Green, Johnny Cinquenta, Two in a Bar, Laurance Mendes, Phil Chambers and George Clark.
The above performances will include readings, together with folk, blues and vocal interpretations of Dylan's music.
However, they will not be regulars on the circuit as they have got together as a one off.
"We are all involved in other bands but we have enjoyed these rehearsals and we get on nicely as mates," says Pete.
"We're all Dylan fans and therefore have a common interest in Dylan."
The gig takes place at the Marr's Bar, Pierpoint Street, Worcester, on Sunday, January 18, 2004 at 8.30pm.
Admission is £4.
