FORTHAMPTON and District Royal British Legion held its Remembrance Day service at Forthampton Church on Sunday, November 9. The church was suitably decorated and the choir accompanied the congregation in the singing of the hymns. At the end of the service, those present were led by the vicar and choir to lay wreaths at the village war memorial.
On Wednesday, October 29, a whist drive was held at Forthampton Village Hall and raised £90 for the church funds. The ladies' winners were P Baxter, M Taylor, J Baldwin, J Windle, V Gibbs, J Rusling, P Cassop, M Baldwin. The gents' winners were M Daniels, B Wood, P Gurney, P Gisby, A Teale, P Amford, H Arker, P Warner. The MC was P Warner. Wednesday, November 19 is the date of the next whist drive.
