A celebration of dance and movement will mark the end of the 2003 Dance Artists in Residence programme in Malvern.

The Malvern and Worcester finale will take place at Malvern Theatres on Saturday, November 22.

The evening features a 20-minute performance from Malvern Theatres' dance-artist-in-residence Rachael Alexander, along with her three counterparts from across the Midlands.

A group from Malvern Day Care Centre and teachers from Hanley Castle High School will be among those performing.

The Dance Artists in Residence programme, organised by Birmingham-based DanceXchange, was a one-year pilot scheme to create dance opportunities for people from all backgrounds.

The Malvern Theatres was one of four venues across the Midlands to be allocated its own dance artist. Worcester-based Rachael Alexander has led classes for teachers, children and professional artists at the Malvern Theatres. DanceXchange hopes to repeat the project in the future, but would need additional funding.
