CONGRATULATIONS must go to Great Malvern Primary School staff and parents for their determined campaign for a pedestrian crossing on the busy Pickersleigh Road (Malvern Gazette, October 10).
As local councillor, last year I met with residents who told me of the increasing dangers to parents and children on this stretch of road.
We asked the highways authority to investigate what could be done and launched a petition that was supported by many parents and the school governing body. The safety of our children outside their school must be seen as a priority and we shall continue to keep up the fight until the pedestrian crossing is installed.
COUN VAL MYATT (Pickersleigh Ward), Cockshot Road, Malvern.
