DAVE Titterton is scouring the market to increase competition in his Stourport Swifts side.

The Walshes Meadow club entertain Swindon Supermarine in the Dr Martens Western Division tomorrow (3pm) but Titterton wants some new faces in central defence and midfield.

Swifts are without key defenders John Newall, who underwent an exploratory operation on his knee yesterday, and Dave Davies (ankle). Also doubtful is striker James Wood (hamstring).

But the impressive Robbie Taylor who scored both Swifts' goals in their 3-2 defeat at Gresley in the Dr Martens Cup in mid-week, is set to start and Titterton is hoping he will prove a secret weapon.

"He's an unknown quantity and worked well with Richard Ball at Gresley," he said,

"Nobody knows about him but he's got real talent and I'm pleased he showed people what he can do the other night."

Swindon, perennial strugglers, have had an improved start to the campaign but Titterton is backing his side to take the points - provided they cut out the errors.

"I know if we play to our capabilities and our strengths - and cut out the elementary mistakes -- that we will win," he added. If we cut out the mistakes we are a top eight side otherwise we will just be mid-table. That's the reality."
