A HUGE seven-metre globe is expected to create a stir with youngsters when it comes bowling into Malvern Theatres at the end of the month.
Final preparations are being made for the arrival of the giant "Earth balloon" to the Grange Road theatre which will be used to teach youngsters about the global dimension and the world's environment.
Pupils from Callow End, Great Malvern, Malvern Parish, Malvern Wells, Suckley, Malvern Link, Longdon St Marys and The Wyche primary schools will be attending the event, organised by Worcestershire County Council.
The globe is made from flame-resistant satin polyester - similar to parachute material - and at seven metres in diameter, is the largest scale globe in Europe.
"The idea behind it is to give the children a different perspective of what the Earth is like," said Stephen Pickering, education for sustainable development officer.
The Earth balloon will be on display from Monday, November 24. Malvern schools can visit the balloon by appointment by contacting Mr Pickering on 01905 728513.
