WORCESTER'S indoor rowing world champion Anna Bailey produced her second fastest time ever to win the women's 50-54 race at the British Indoor Rowing Championships at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.
She set a new championship record time of seven minutes, 7.8 seconds -- just 1.2 seconds outside her own world record.
Bailey was one of a number of Old Wrecks members, the Evesham-based club, who won medals at the championships.
In the women's 50-54 lightweight event, Sue Little was just outside her own British record, taking gold in a time of 7:44.2. Sylvia Speechley won silver in 8:01.8.
Helen Barnettput in a superb personal best time of 7:22.1 to win the silver medal in the women's 35-39 race, while Janet Parker added to her collection of gold medals with a win in the women's 55-59 lightweight race in a time of 8:11.9.
Melissa Whitten took a bronze medal in the women's 30-34 lightweight class in 8:09.2.
Claire Cordory set a new personal best in the women's open, racing against some of the top water rowing names, finishing fifth in 7:08.5.
Young Abi Wright also managed a new personal best by a massive 15 seconds in the girls' J14 race, finishing eighth in 8:13.9.
The premier race of the day was the men's open, which saw Matthew Pinsent and James Cracknell head-to-head with other Olympic hopefuls, and after a false start a terrific race ensued.
Pinsent ended up just beating Cracknell into second place.
Sir Steve Redgrave was on hand to present the medals throughout the day as well as promoting his Children's Charitable Trust.
The Birmingham event attracted 2,500 competitors from all over the world.
