THE triathlon and duathlon season is officially over but some club members are continuing to compete to keep fit and well, especially those venturing to New Zealand next month for the World Triathlon Championship.
At the Stroud Half Marathon, from a field of 1,700 runners, the club's Kevin May finished 33rd in a personal best time of 1.17.18, beating his previous best time by over six minutes.
It was a great run by May who has performed very well this season.
Conditions were ideal for running and Wilson Kogo, a Kenyan, was the overall winner in a fast time of 1.06.16.
The 10km Reebok Cross-Country race at Senneleys Park, Birmingham was part of a national series, with over 800 competitors from the United Kingdom and some internationals participated.
May was the lone Worcester member in his first senior cross-country of the season, finishing in 40.57 which gave him 270th position. The race was won by C Davies from Telford AC in a time of 32.48.
Helen Wootton and May travelled up to the Peak District in Derbyshire for the Dovedale Dash, a multi terrain 4.75 mile race.
The demanding race started at the top of a steep hill down to the river Dove, through the river (waist deep), along the river bank and back up the steep hill to complete the race!
Over 1100 people competed with May finishing 29th in 31.01 and Wootton 310th in 39.11 - her first ever muddy cross country race.
