HUNDREDS of blue plaques are likely to appear across Worcestershire as projects, large and small, acknowledge the help they have received from the National Lottery.
Nearly every Lottery beneficiary will eventually receive a plaque with the crossed fingers logo and the words, Awarded National Lottery Funding.
Culture secretary Tessa Jowell launched the blue plaque scheme yesterday to recognise how the National Lottery has transformed communities throughout Britain since its launch in 1994.
Players have raised £14bn for good causes, benefiting more than 15,000 projects, but many people who play the Lottery are not aware of how their money has been spent.
Lottery operator Camelot is sponsoring the first 10,000 plaques, which will roll out in the first year, leading up to the 10th anniversary of the Lottery, next November.
