BROMSGROVE Rovers completed a Dr Martens Western Division double over Stourport Swifts with a 2-0 victory at the Victoria Ground last night.
Mark Atkinson and Marcus Jackson got a goal in each half to leave George Rooney's side, who won 2-1 at Swifts earlier this season, unbeaten in the league since September and up to fourth place in the table.
A poor first half provided few opportunities for Rovers and nothing of attacking note for Dave Titterton's side.
Steve Frost had a header cleared off the line for the hosts on 27 minutes while Jackson and Kevin Banner both had half chances.
Atkinson eventually gave Rovers the lead five minutes before the break when he turned in Paul Szewczyk's cross at the near post.
The visitors' first effort on target was former Rovers loan player Richard Ball's tame header seconds into the second half but it was never going to trouble Paul Wyatt.
Swifts' only real chance of the game was almost gift-wrapped for them by Rovers defender Steve Hillman. He somehow managed to slice a clearance straight at his own goalkeeper Wyatt from point blank range.
The hosts' second came on 67 minutes when Jackson cut inside on the left and drilled a shot low past Ryan Price from 20 yards.
Atkinson twice went close in the closing stages for Rovers while Szewczyk caused Swifts all sorts of problems with his strength up front.
Kerry Giddings and Jan Mulders replaced Jon Hayward and Andrew Wright respectively late on for the visitors but neither could influence the outcome.
