WORCESTER Sixth Form College girls indoor hockey team have progressed to the Midlands indoor finals by finishing second in the Worcestershire competition.
The team played well considering their lack of experience indoors beating Kingsley College 5-1 and narrowly losing to Bromsgrove School 2-1 having hit the post twice during a tight game.
They will compete in the Midlands round on December 13.
Sophie Wood and Tina Evans. both members of the College team, have been successful in being selected for the British Colleges Sport national hockey squad.
In addition Fiona Nash was selected as a non travelling reserve.
The squad will now have several warm-up games before touring Holland during the Easter break.
