DEAR EDITOR -- I agree with Susan Holbeches letter of last month that Bromsgrove District Council has been slow to improve the methods of collection of refuse in the area.
Black bags have been supplied in Birmingham for many years. Unfortunately now they are intending to improve, Ms Holbeche does not wish to co-operate.
My wife and I, along with other members of our canal society, have helped remove other people's rubbish from local canals for many years, so that they are attractive places to walk, fish, boat, etc
Perhaps Ms Holbeche would like to join a work-party and see the tons of rubbish that is dumped in our countryside by those who cannot be bothered to segregate and recycle the refuse that they produce. I am sure she would not wish to be associated with these people. Perhaps she may think a little more carefully about what she is doing.
She mentions the European Convention of Human Rights. I have the right to enjoy an environment that has not been contaminated by irresponsible methods of rubbish disposal. This includes putting all your rubbish in one bin so that none of it is suitable for recycling.
