VOLUNTEERS please! This was the cry of the evening when Catshill WI held its AGM.
Although Catshill WI is a large and very progressive organisation, there is always a shortage of new committee members. Visiting WI advisor, Rosemary Edwards, urged members to join the existing committee.
The president, Hazel Aston, and secretary Christine Clarke, went through the business of the evening. The treasurer, Joan Flowerday, gave the annual financial report. The president and members of the committee were re-elected.
The visit to The Birmingham Hippodrome to see Tommy Steele in Scrooge was a great success, with 44 members enjoying the evening. Members were also reminded of the forthcoming trips to The Malcolm Sargeant Carol Concert and the Christmas pottery painting day in Malvern. Members then enjoyed a delicious ploughman's supper, supplied by Cynthia Caldicott and an amusing cryptic and picture quiz organised by Mary Davis.
The Christmas meeting will be held on Monday, December 8, at 7.30pm in Catshill Village Hall.
