A LANDLORD is offering guests the opportunity to carve a permanent place in his inn's history.
Paul Ryder, landlord of The Robin Hood, off Worcester Road has joined forces with a local branch of the International Tree Foundation, to encourage traditional family values.
He has created a pledge certificate and will ask families to sign it saying they will try and make more time together. The family group with the oldest average age will also have a tree planted at The Robin Hood in their name.
He said: "We have noticed that there is plenty of demand for tables, for small groups of friends and couples but this definitely seems to be at the expense of family gatherings. Once the children grow up we know that the opportunities for older families to get together for a meal become rare."
The opportunity to pledge will run throughout November and the winners will be invited to the tree planting ceremony in early December.
