GIVING youngsters from Tibberton First School wore their heart on their sleeves when they took part in Operation Christmas Child this week.
Pupils from the Plough Road school brought in dozens of shoeboxes crammed full of goodies including scarves, crayons, soap, toothbrushes and hats to help those children and families that may not receive a gift this year.
The school has dedicated time and effort to the charity operation organised by Samaritans Purse for many years now and managed to send off 54 boxes to the organisation in time for this year's festive season.
School secretary Joan Watts said: "We think Operation Christmas Child is an excellent way to teach children to think of those less fortunate than themselves this Christmas."
