STUDLEY police are still seeking witnesses to what is believed to be an airgun attack from a moving car in the middle of the village.
At about 8.40pm on Sunday, November 9, a 'baby blue' old-shaped Suzuki Swift was driven from the medical centre car park in Pool Road into Crooks Lane at speed.
The car slowed as it passed a group of three youths and one of the occupants fired what is believed to be an airgun at them.
A 16-year-old male college pupil was hit in the chest by a pellet but luckily escaped injury due to the thickness of his clothing.
Sector commander Insp Tim Bailey said: "Although there were no injuries on this occasion the implications of this could have been far worse.
"More than half the firearms incidents responded to by Warwickshire Police each year concern the misuse of air weapons and ball bearing type guns.
"They provide a significant risk to the public and we take a dim view of their misuse and will prosecute wherever possible. Firearms of any type should only be used under strict supervision and ideally only in private".
Anyone with information can call DC Craig Varney at Alcester CID on 01789 762207.
