A recycling scheme is to be expanded across the town after a successful pilot.
Redditch Council's kerbside recycling scheme will be increased to another 2,250 homes next month and will be introduced to parts of Callow Hill, Crabbs Cross, Ipsley, Lodge Park, Matchborough West, Southcrest and Woodrow South.
The recycling collection team will visit homes in these areas in the next few weeks to distribute information leaflets and recycling boxes.
The team will wear distinctive yellow tops with 'recycling' on them and staff will be carrying identification badges, which residents should check.
The scheme is carried out weekly on the same day as normal refuse collection but using a different vehicle.
Redditch Council's assistant recycling officer Ceridwen John said: "We are delighted Redditch residents have supported the scheme so far and hope that as more properties are included we can further reduce the amount of rubbish which is buried in landfill."
More than 325 tonnes of recyclables have been collected to date. For details, call the recycling hotline on 534190.
