AUTUMN is now upon us and Redditch Council has resumed its spending spree of the £2 million raised to clear trees and shrubbery.
While I can appreciate that some pruning of trees is necessary and clearance of shrubbery, particularly around pathways and pedestrian routes, is warranted, I am concerned the work being carried out along Alders Drive is destroying a valuable natural barrier to the noise and pollution from a very busy road which carries a constant stream of cars and lorries to the Moons Moat Industrial Estates.
Where once I looked out onto greenery, now I am left with a thin line of trees so that I can enjoy the vista of the different coloured lorries speeding past, listen to the differing engine noises and smell the perfume of the exhaust fumes!
Thank you so much Redditch Council, this is just what I moved here for - I may as well have moved to Birmingham.
