AT the November meeting a report was given on the very successful skittles evening. Not only was it great fun but also made a financial profit.
The luncheon club had a surprise ending to their October trip to Birmingham, when after an enjoyable lunch followed by a visit to the Bullring centre the group met for tea at St Stephen's Church only to make a hasty exit when the fire bell rang. Thankfully, it was a false alarm.
A final report was about the group meeting at Rowney Green when members enjoyed hearing firsthand about The Calendar Girls from excellent speaker Tricia Stewart, one of the 'girls'.
The AGM followed and the treasurer reported a healthy bank balance thanks to varied fundraising events and the ongoing trade table. Ann Thurrell gave her report and thanked all the committee and members who had given so much help and support throughout the year.
Secretary Jean Alexander then read out a report on the past year's events in verse.
As the president and committee were willing to stand they were all re-elected.
After refreshments Sylvia Cartwright spoke about her WI trip to Canada.
The next meeting on December 4 is the institute's birthday, to be celebrated with games and a supper.
