STRAY shopping trolleys are driving Greenlands residents mad, according to one resident.
Earlier this month, she took a stroll with a camera and managed to spot 10 Tesco trolleys - a small part of an ongoing problem she says.
The resident, who did not want to be named, has complained to both Tesco and Redditch Council about the problem.
She said: "I find it difficult to understand people who dump trolleys and who obviously have no respect for the environment or consideration for those who live in the area.
"I would have thought a company as large as Tesco could have made a greater effort to prevent this from happening.
"They send out a collection truck weekly, usually towards the end of the week prior to the weekend and people's 'big shop'."
A Tesco spokesman said the company operated a trolley hotline, which guaranteed stray trolleys are picked up within 24 hours.
He added: "We find that our customers don't like having to find a pound deposit for the trolleys, so it's about striking a balance really.
"But we do have regular trolley patrols and staff wander around areas looking for them.
"We understand people don't want trolleys around and it's in our interest not to lose them."
The trolley hotline number is 0800 505555.
