LAST week, hundreds of adults and children throughout the county took part in events to raise awareness of the need for people to come forward and be adoptive parents.
In Redditch, there are currently several youngsters who are desperately seeking loving people to adopt them.
During National Adoption Week, which ran from November 3-9, Worcestershire County Council's adoption team encouraged people in the town to consider adopting a child.
It promoted the benefits adoption can bring and asked residents to make a child's wish come true and give them an opportunity to shine by providing them with a caring home.
School children were also asked to cut out stars and write on them what they loved most about their families.
The stars were then collected and placed onto curtains which were put on display at County Hall.
The children who created the four most inspiring stars were then sent books as their prizes.
Adoption team manager Debbie Key said: "We need at least 10 new families in Redditch to adopt, particularly those who would consider adopting siblings.
"When a family is found to adopt them, it can be a dream come true for a child.
"There are many children who may be hoping that National Adoption Week will bring them the family they have been wishing for a family that makes them feel comfortable and cared for."
