EUROPEAN 400m runner and former Commonwealth Champion Du'aine Ladejo dropped in to talk to youngsters at St Bede's Middle School on Thursday.
The sports star posed for pictures with staff and pupils at the Holloway Lane School and gave autographs, as well as running the pupils through some training exercises in the gym.
Afterwards, he chatted with the pupils and answered questions.
School spokesman Gillian Hawkins said: "He spoke to the children about what he had achieved and how he started and of the importance of dedication and drive. He was a fantastic role model for the children."
