Trees described as "the most natural and beautiful memento of the Coronation" were planted at Rowney Green playing field on Saturday afternoon in the presence of a large crowd of villagers and children.
Main interest on Saturday was centred on eight scotch pines to be known as the Coronation Clump. A plaque commemorating the occasion was unveiled by Mrs WG Tyler, chairman of the Rowney Green Coronation Committee.
