Redditch Petty Sessions - Leonard Walton of Silver Street, failed to answer a charge of deserting his wife.
Supt. Hayes said he understood the defendant had had the misfortune to fall into the hands of the County Court bailiff on the previous night and had been taken to prison for 21 days.
The chairman said it was rather hard on the woman because she would get nothing in the meantime. The case would have to be adjourned for three weeks.
A further charge against the defendant of using indecent language was adjourned for a similar period.
