They had been top of the table before the previous week's loss to Droitwich and took the lead on Saturday after a break by Melissa Kennedy.
Skipper Holly Lashford defended well and keeper Sarah Cranton, the player-of-the-match, pulled off a string of superb saves in reply.
Bromsgrove eventually scrambled home an equaliser just before the interval but Stourport flew ahead again through Kerry Walker after fine passing from Alison Baron and Vicky Whitehouse.
Bromsgrove levelled again quickly but Fran Long steadied Stourport and Kennedy's solo run provided Wilma Martin with the winner at the far post.
