SWIMMING: Three Wyre Forest Swimming Club members tackled the Midland District Age Group Sprint Championships in Nuneaton.
Swimmers had to record fast qualifying times at designated competitions to make the grade.
Paul Ingenthron, Ross Morton and Chris Wildgust were all involved in the U-13s section at Pingles Pool on Saturday.
Results, 50 metres freestyle: 3rd Wildgust, 11 Morton, 17 Ingenthron; 50m backstroke: 6 Ingenthron, 13 Morton, 15 Wildgust; 50m breaststroke: 6 Morton.
Meanwhile, eight Wyre Forest members were part of the Worcestershire team on Sunday in the Ron Hooper Trophy gala at Wolverhampton against seven other counties.
Each swam at least one individual event, plus a relay, with Victoria Wassell, 11, finishing second in the 10 to 11 years 50 metres butterfly.
Staffordshire were the overall winners with 305 points, while Warwickshire were second on 253 and Worcestershire third on 250.
Other results, fourth places: Morton (12/13, 100m backstroke), Jonathon Baylie (14/15, 100m butterfly), Hannah Wear (14/15, 100m backstroke), Amy Smith (open, 100m backstroke); fifth places: Wildgust (12/13, 100m freestyle), Ben Perry (14/15, 100m freestyle).
