TENNIS: Two Bewdley couples qualified to play in the British Women's Tennis Association Championships at Wimbledon.
Mandy Sylvester and Penny Marchant, who made the grade at Sheffield in May, lost their first match but recovered to reach the plate competition final.
The duo were runners-up to Elaine Metz and Julie Metz, of Surrey.
Dawn Gumbley and Lesley Reeve-Parker also made the finals with a fine display in Bath but had to withdraw at the last minute due to an injury to Gumbley.
