BOWLING: The Aces came up trumps with a total of 16 points from two games to move them half-way up the Gilt Edge Short Mat League table.

Both triples bowled well to win 22-6 against Dire Straits and then did even better to defeat Stourport 23-3 with Tony Carter, Alan Smith and Alf Giles only dropping one shot.

Crusaders just edged out Squirrel 18-14 after both teams won a half in a close encounter.

Consistent Brintons thrashed Wribbenhall 12-1 in the first half to eventually triumph 20-8 and stay in the top five.

There was another hotshot six for Invincibles in their 30-12 success over Just For Fun, while Tornadoes were unlucky not to score three hotshots and instead took three fives in defeating Dire Straits 35-4.

At the bottom, Untouchables continue to struggle after going down 21-11 to high-fliers Blakedown.
