THE goalkeeper crisis continues for Bewdley Town who have a big Worcestershire Junior Cup quarter-final tie ahead.

They entertain Tipton Town Reserves on Saturday, November 29, but keepers Mark Jones, Jim Pickett and Tom Stewart will not be available.

Jones has knee ligament trouble, Pickett work commitments and Stewart has picked up a 35-day suspension for violent conduct.

Bewdley boss Craig Payton hopes to tempt Matt Gray, who has been on the books at Worcester and Stourport, to fill the gap for now with defender Dale Evans the only other option.

But Payton is appealing for any other keepers out there who may be interested to call chairman Geoff Edwards on 01562 755957.

Other blows for Town were the postponement of Saturday's West Midlands League Division One South game at Ludlow Town Reserves due to the Shropshire side's pitch being double-booked.

And defender Gary Middleton is set to leave after a seven-day approach from Chaddesley Corbett.

Payton said: "Gary feels he's ready for a new challenge and we wish him all the best."

Bewdley will try to re-arrange the Ludlow game for next Wednesday.
