Loughborough 2, Littleton 3
LITTLETON made the long trip to Loughborough last Saturday when they came away with three points after a last minute goal from Danny Harris.
However, they will feel that they should have had the Midland Combination Division One points sewn up much earlier as they dominated play for long periods.
The visitors made the early running and a Nick Burrows pull back found Jon Gregory but his shot was easily saved.
However, on five minutes they took the lead when Matt Cotton drove home as the ball came out following a corner.
Loughborough hit back and their best player Kris Richardson volleyed just over from 18 yards.
The visitors threatened again when Robbie Hands broke down the right and his cross was met by Simon Brain whose shot was cleared off the line.
The pattern continued in the second half when Gregory volleyed just wide, a clever chip from Reeves had the same result and then a Hands shot was turned past a post.
The game was then turned upside down as Richardson scored twice in a minute to give the hosts a surprise lead.
Firstly, his header looped over Adam Moss into the net and then he curled a shot from the edge of the box that squeezed just inside an upright.
It only took a minute for Littleton to level when Brain was fouled in the box and Curtis Major Blasted home the resultant penalty.
A free-kick on the edge of the box in the final minute saw a shot from Darren Reeves hit a post but Harris was on hand to slam in the rebound from six yards.
