GARETH Walford celebrated his return to action after injury with a 12-minute hat-trick.

Town were already leading 3-1 when Walford was called into second half duty after goals from Nat Bulmer, Alex Hall and Aaron Wright.

The main pitch at King George's obviously suited Pershore's style of play and the large crowd witnessed a final strike from Lee Miller that lifted the winners up to second in the Mercian Festival League.

Chesterton Jnrs 2

UNITED reached the quarter-finals of the League Cup with an emphatic win over fellow Division A opponents.

The home team made a great start with three goals in the opening 12 minutes. Michael Carter scored twice with David Huggins adding the other.

To make half-time even more comfortable, Adam Styles smacked in a cracker, while goalkeeper Ben Parry's flying save ensured a four-goal cushion.

Chesterton came out battling after the break but Evesham remained in the ascendancy.

Carter completed his hard earned hat-trick, Huggins converted a penalty, Adam Styles produced another superb finish and captain Stuart Warren thumped in his side's eighth.

Chesterton replied with two goals in the last five minutes but they were merely a consolation.

EVESHAM produced a fine display to inflict a heavy defeat on Saturday's visitors.

Henry Woods opened the scoring following a fine one-two with Louis Brown but Sports were soon level.

The hosts hit back and Brown's header took a wicked deflection before crossing the line.

Woods made it 3-1 before claiming his hat-trick with the aid of a deflection.

After the restart Woods returned the favour for Brown to lash home, before the scorer completed his treble.

Leon Ballard was called upon to make a number of saves before Woods and Brown ended the rout with further goals.

Evesham Utd Robins U-10 6

ROBINS maintained their 100 per cent Ambassador League record after Saturday's six-hit show.

They produced some of their best passing moves of the season but, for all their pressure, they only led by a single Nathan Jelfs goal at the break.

In the second half the goals flowed more freely. Josh Downey scored from close-range before a quickfire Elliott Grady hat-trick sealed the victory.

Bryn Tome completed the scoring with an excellent individual effort.

Peopleton U-15 2, Malvern Utd 0

FRESH legs proved the key to Sunday's hard-fought success as Peopleton created several chances but lacked the finishing touch.

Malvern rode their luck at times as the hosts enjoyed the majority of the possession and the deadlock was finally broken when the slightest touch from Chris Andrews deflected the ball into the goal.

The scorer then added a second and Mike Bulford was unlucky not to make it 3-0 with a late effort from halfway that flew inches wide.

Littleton Jnrs 15

LITTLETON showed why they are the current league leaders with another emphatic win in the League Cup.

They took the lead after only three minutes through Wesley Burden.

Jack Jeffery than scored the first of his three goals and, with two more from Burden, five from Nathan Brain, two from Charlie Jeffery and one each for Alex Drew and Will Russell, Littleton ran out easy winners.

Littleton Jnrs U-13 9

LITTLETON ran out comfortable winners but only after a first half struggle.

Matt Goss headed home Matt Smith's pinpoint cross before Lance Smith pounced on a loose ball in the box to make it 2-0.

Littleton seemed to go to sleep and Lyppard pulled a goal back but the second half saw Littleton take the game by the scruff of the neck.

The goals rained in as Phil Davies hit a hat-trick, Smith added his second and Jack Proctor and Ryan Clarke completed the scoring.

Illmington U10s 0,

Drakes Broughton Rgrs 2

RANGERS returned home from high flying Illmington with a good win after a superb team performance.

The visitors had the best of a goalless first half and only a great save from the home keeper kept the scores level.

With the wind behind them, Rangers controlled the second half. Daniel Wilcox bundled home a Joe Mogg corner before player of the match Callum Tidy sealed victory with a brilliant finish.

THE first meeting between the sides saw a match full of attacking play with the home side producing the first chances.

Drakes started to string some passes together. Tom Bird connected with a corner kick from Ashley Lane to open the scoring and the same player then doubled the lead.

More fine passing provided Max Begley with a perfect ball to take the visitors three goals clear at half-time.

Ross Day and Michael Slater came on up front in the second half and scored a goal apiece to complete the scoring.

Dunnington Rgrs 1

TOWN took an early lead with a well-struck shot from Josh Smith only for Dunnington to equalise on the break.

Pershore then created lots of chances but were kept out by the visiting goalkeeper.

However, the goals finally arrived with Luke Jones bagging a hat- trick and Josh Smith scoring a second.

Defenders Adam Boughton, Andrew Nickells and Josh Carr all battled hard while player of the match Sam Cross again put in another great display.

Badsey Rgrs U-8 10, Littleton 0

NEWLY formed Rangers extended their unbeaten run to five games with a convincing victory.

Matt Andrew netted seven goals with the fifth an excellent left-footed free kick that whistled into the top corner.

Further goals came from Ryan Dixon, Joe Dartnell and Stewart Davies.

Alcester 2000 2

THE visitors took the lead against the run of play but Jack Phillpot levelled on the stroke of half-time with a well taken goal following sustained pressure.

Littleton deserved at least a point, but were denied by a second Alcester goal.

Bredon Bullets 1

TOWN trailed to a Craig Johns penalty at half-time but hit back to record a convincing win.

Steve Smaylen, Mike Diston, Pat Bunn and a penalty from Sam Hopkins left the hosts in charge before Bredon's second half misery was complete when they conceded an own goal.

Evesham Utd Girls U-12 1

A STRONG team effort failed to halt the title challenge of the top of the table hosts.

Evesham attacked strongly on the break and had several shots at goal as they tried to pull back the early deficit.

However, it was five minutes from time when they earned their reward courtesy of a goal from Vicky Walters.
