FOR all his shouting Dave Titterton could do little to stop Stourport Swifts losing 2-0 at Bromsgrove Rovers on Tuesday.
The Swifts boss spent the majority of the game hurling instructions from the stand and then the touchline but his cries were in vain as Rovers completed a Dr Martens Western Division double.
Swifts, beaten 2-1 by Rovers in September, came for a draw and did not get it.
Once Mark Atkinson had turned in Paul Szewczyk's cross at the near post five minutes before the break, they were forced into a re-think.
A poor first half provided few opportunities for Rovers and nothing at all in the final third for the visitors.
Before their breakthrough the hosts saw Steve Frost's header cleared off the line on 27 minutes, while Marcus Jackson and Kevin Banner both had half-chances.
Atkinson's goal sparked the game into life as Rovers ended the period on a high.
The visitors' first effort on target was Richard Ball's tame header seconds into the new half but it was never going to trouble keeper Paul Wyatt.
Swifts' only real chance of the game was almost gift-wrapped for them by Rovers defender Steve Hillman who sliced a clearance straight at Wyatt from point-blank range.
Rovers grabbed their second on 67 minutes when former Swifts target Jackson cut inside on the left and drilled a low shot past Ryan Price from 20 yards.
Atkinson twice went close in the closing stages for Rovers and Szewczyk caused all sorts of problems with his strength up front.
Kerry Giddings and Jan Mulders replaced John Hayward and Andrew Wright respectively late on for the visitors but neither could influence the outcome.
