WITH the Coaching Solutions Midlands Premier League still providing strange results each week, Worcester Hockey Club's men visited second-placed Olton still only five points off top spot even though they had taken only one point from their last four outings.
Worcester's domination paid off when a Chris Adams penalty corner put them 1-0 up.
They conceded from a penalty corner to put the scores level.
The second half saw Worcester continue to have the upper hand and James Wright gave them a deserved lead. They looked like they would hang on and take the points but with two minutes to go a soft ball into the circle wasn't defended and the Olton forward deflected the ball over Mark Wilson in the Worcester goal.
Worcester entertain Sikh Un-ion on Saturday, 1.30pm push back at Nunnery Wood. Worcester visit Holcombe on Sunday in the last 32 of the NHA Cup.

Nottingham scored with an early breakaway goal.
Worcester were unlucky to concede two further goals in the first half but came out a changed side in the second half. James Cosh combined well with Harry Tavern to create a short corner which was put away by Jeremy Drake. He scored a further drag flick but it was not enough.

Nottingham opened the scoring after ten minutes. A deserved equaliser followed on 30 minutes from Paul Sharratt.
Worcester took the lead when Mark Chambers rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home. They were still leaking chances and after a goalline clearance by Glen Barnes Nottingham equalised. There was still time for Paul Sharratt to receive a yellow card and Worc-ester were holding on.
WORCESTER IV 3 NUNEATON 0
Worcester's breakthrough fin-ally came when Ian Dyson fired home. They doubled their lead early in the second half when Matt Mackicham blasted the ball past the keeper.
The game was wrapped up 10 minutes from time when York Senior beat the keeper.
STOURPORT V 6
WORCESTER V 1
Worcester once again had a group of new faces in the side. They struggled to find their shape but were well in it with a goal from a scramble. Marcus Claytor's shot was stopped by the keeper and Scott Seckham put it in. With the score at 2-1 at half time Worcester took the attack to Stourport but failed to score from several opportunities.
Simple defensive errors at the back after Stourport breakaway attacks left the final score 6-1.
WORCESTER VI 1 SOLIHULL BLOSSOMFIELD IV 2
Worcester forced the pace and despite short corner after short corner failed to capitalise.
The second half started much the same as the first, but Solihull were growing in confidence.
Eventually a ball into the Worcester D followed by a simple touch from the Solihull forward and Worcester 1-0 down. Mark Evans scored a scrappy equaliser two minutes after some good work outside the D from skipper Andy Taylor. In their next attack Solihull managed to force a second with a clean strike from the top of the D.

HARBOURNE 1
Worcester's defence easily contained Harbourne allowing them to take a 3-1 lead at half time with goals from Woodwiss, Chambers and Hampson. They scored twice in the second half through Tinashe and Simons.
WORCESTER BADGERS 2 DROITWICH BADGERS 0
Worcester's more fluent style gave them the edge but they couldn't press home their advantage until early in the second half when Tom Paddon's reverse stick sweep beat the keeper.
After sustained pressure in the Droitwich D, Matt Everest coolly lifted the ball over the keeper for his first goal for the club.
WORCESTER BADGERS II 0 WARWICK BADGERS 3
Worcester started well and created chances which they failed to take. Warwick scored near the end of the first half. After the break Worcester again created chances, but as they tired Warwick scored two more.
