HITMAN Jesper Christiansen tops the shopping list of Jan Molby who hopes to swoop before Christmas.

The 23-year-old Odense Boldklub player, an imposing figure at 6ft 3ins, could form a dream Danish strike duo with Bo Henriksen at Kidderminster Harriers.

Christiansen confirmed Molby's high opinion of him by impressing last week on trial at Aggborough and is believed to have enjoyed his brief spell in England.

But Harriers' director of football will have to wait until the Danish transfer window re-opens on January 1 unless his Super League club release him before then.

Molby remains hopeful it will happen sooner rather than later and said: "It would be a massive change in his life if he decides to come to England but we are very keen and he seems quite keen as well."

Christiansen, with three goals in more than 30 appearances at OB, would take the role currently occupied by Andy White who has done well without finding the net yet.

White still has more than a month left on his loan deal and is set to spearhead the attack at home to Torquay in Division Three on Saturday.

Molby is expected to return to a 4-3-3 system after pulling off a 1-0 victory at Rochdale on Saturday by playing 4-5-1.

He will hope for a better display from his team than their last effort against a top-half side, a 2-0 defeat to Doncaster on October 25.

History smiles on Harriers who are yet to lose to Torquay in six Football League meetings and have won all three clashes at Hoo Road without conceding a goal.

Molby said: "The last time one of the better teams came here, in Doncaster, we didn't produce and didn't compete with them.

"I hope we have improved sufficiently since then so we can compete with Torquay.

"If you don't get in amongst them and break up their play, they are technically good and will create chances.

"Torquay have got people who are capable of scoring goals. David Graham is as good a front-man as you will see in Division Three."

Meanwhile, Molby has admitted he would be interested in signing Richie Appleby for a second Harriers spell if the creative midfielder was released by Hull.

The Division Three leaders have given Appleby several weeks to prove his fitness and use to the club or he could face the axe.

Though only a month into their new job, Harriers' board have been delighted with the two league wins and a draw already achieved under Molby and assistant Gary Barnett.

Chairman Colin Youngjohns said: "The players are looking more confident and our supporters are also gaining in confidence."
