A MAN who broke into the home of his former partner because he could not cope with the end of the relationship has been bound over to keep the peace for one year.
Colin Hughes, of Burfield Close, Warndon, Worcester, was so upset that Debbie Jones, his partner of 19 years, had set up home with another man, that he broke into their house and damaged their furniture and pictures of the couple, said his solicitor Mark Sheward.
Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday heard that the victims had discovered the damage after returning home at around 6am on Wednesday, October 15.
Compensation
Mr Sheward, said both parties had agreed that Hughes would pay compensation.
"He could not cope with the situation," said Mr Sheward.
"There is no likelihood of a repetition in response to this action."
Magistrates told Hughes that if he did not keep the peace he would have to pay a fine of £100.
