FORMER employees of a Droitwich manufacturing company were recently reunited at a special event.
More than 50 former Battenfield Gloucester Extrusion Systems workers met at the War Memorial Club in Fernhill Heath.
Martin Horwood, of the Village, Clifton upon Teme, who worked for the company for 25 years as machine shop manager, organised the event after he met former colleagues at the funeral of Phillip Berrow, who used to work for the business and died a couple of months ago while on holiday.
"A bunch of us thought 'we're going to start meeting at people's funerals - this is not good' and so we thought we should have a proper reunion," said Mr Horwood.
"Everybody was overjoyed at seeing everybody else."
The company, which manufactures machinery for the plastics industry, was based on Droitwich's Berry Hill Industrial Estate for more than 30 years.
It employed about 125 people but closed in 2000, when its operations were moved to Vienna.
Mr Horwood is now planning another event for next year.
