LONGDON church choir will be rehearsing at St Mary's Church on Monday (November 24) at 6.30pm for children and 7pm for adults. New members are always welcome and enquiries should be made to the choir mistress, Wendy Thompson, via Longdon Vicarage on 01684 833256.
On Tuesday (November 25) the choir will be singing at a special Upton Deanery service of Holy Communion in Longdon Church starting at 7.30pm.
All the Eucharistic assistants in the Deanery have been invited to take part and to have their licence renewed for a further year by the Rural Dean.
The guest preacher is Rev Brian Tetley, formerly on the staff of Worcester Cathedral and husband of the Archdeacon of Worcester. The choir will be singing The Salisbury Service, a setting of the Eucharist, and the anthem Listen Sweet Dove, both by Grayston Ives. The service will be followed by wine and cheese.
On Wednesday (November 26) Longdon Churchwomen's Fellowship will be holding their annual dinner in Longdon Village Hall, 7pm for 7.30pm.
Longdon School has been invited to take part in the ECO fair in the foyer of Malvern Theatres on Wednesday (November 26). Members of the ECO committee will run a stand demonstrating the work the school has done towards its ECO Award.
Next Friday, November 28, the whole school will visit the Earth Balloon at Malvern Theatres. Children will be able to go inside it and investigate our environment.
Next Saturday, November 29, Longdon Church will be holding its Christmas bazaar at Upton Memorial Hall. Doors will open at 9.30am and the traditional stalls and refreshments will be available. Offers of books, bric-a-brac or cakes and mince pies will be gratefully received.
Also on Saturday, the Longdon St Mary's School Christmas fair takes place in Upton Memorial Hall starting at 2pm.
