Macbeth is a story that could be set at any point in time. Its theme of jealousy and betrayal can be found throughout mankind's history.
This musical production by Shakespeare 4 Kidz may be a simplified version of the adult tale but it still has the power to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Although a single stage set was used throughout, the play's dark themes are reinforced by the clever use of lighting and music.
The actors do an excellent job in telling the story; particularly good is Ben Langley in the funny role of the porter.
Steve Paget, as Macbeth, suits the part really well; a big man with a big voice.
Michelle Connolly, as Lady Macbeth, acts and sings with a lot of expression but Tom Sherman, as Banquo, doesn't do a very good job of convincing us that he is Macbeth's friend.
This production works well as a musical as it makes the story more understandable for children.
