ABOUT 60 people visited Cromwells in Upton on Sunday as the shop held its anniversary open day.
The shop's range of Christmas chocolates were available to sample and visitors were presented with a glass of mulled wine.
Owner Nick Hannah said he thought the event had gone very well:.
"I was very pleased," he said. "The mulled wine went down very well and people enjoyed trying the chocolates. I was surprised how many people came."
Visitors also took part in a raffle for a large chocolate Father Christmas, which brought in £120 for the Acorns Children's Hospice. The raffle will be drawn nearer Christmas.
Mr Hannah said he would certainly consider repeating the exercise in the future, possibly at Easter.
