IT'S amazing - as soon as we get a successful local enterprise, the 'Malvern miseries' come out of the woodwork and try to nobble it.
The current target is Malvern's Three Counties Showground, which a local clique wants to fix in a 1950s planning time warp.
The world has moved on, with far fewer people employed in agriculture today so events like the Kit Car Show meet current demand.
Part of the problem is intolerance of non-horsy events despite the virtual disappearance of working horses on farms. Four legs good, four wheels bad - live and let live.
Perhaps the Three Counties Agricultural Society should admit defeat and apply to redevelop the showground as a retail therapy park with 24-hour supermarkets and huge car parks so the 'miseries' can shop till they drop!
