"THE Creep, Britain's latest addition to the ballroom repertoire and the biggest dance sensation since the Charleston," reported the Malvern Gazette 50 years ago, "was included in the programme of Oscar Rabin and orchestra at Malvern Winter Gardens when they played host to more than 700 of their fans.
"The announcement of the dance was met with obvious enthusiasm."
The report went on to say that bandleader Rabin had lost count of the times he had appeared in Malvern during recent years and he "voiced his high esteem of the incomparable grace and elegance of its dancers".
