JOHN Brain believes that Worcester Rugby Club's superb win at Plymouth represented a new chapter for the Sixways club.
Worcester's director of rugby was delighted with the steel on show at Brickfields during the 43-17 National One victory and hopes his side can now build on that in today's clash with Exeter Chiefs.
"I think the squad took a big step forward with that performance," he said. "Matches in National One do not come much tougher than Plymouth away and to go there and win 43-17 was a real achievement.
"The players knew what was in front of them and they performed with real composure. I was delighted with them and I think it showed everyone just what we are capable of. However, what is important that we continue to build and the players are very focused on that. We were delighted with the win at Plymouth but Exeter is the only thing that matters now."
Meanwhile, Worcester are organising a World Cup celebration in the city centre on Monday night.
Scottish World Cup star Ben Hinshelwood will be in the firing line as he answers questions about his experiences Down Under at O'Neills pub.
Worcester's star centre is booked in for a question and answer session for supporters and rugby fans alike at the St Nicholas Street venue. Worcester skipper Werner Swanepoel and Drew Hickey will also be attending to add to the atmosphere.
The event gets underway at 7.30pm and Sixways season ticket holders will get free admission. However, they must collect their ticket from the Worcester ticket office while everyone else can buy one for £3.
The room will hold 200 people so the club are advising people to pre-book via the ticket office on 01905-459325.
