PRINCE Charles was set to start up a spectacular restored fountain at a Worcestershire stately home this morning.
The Prince was due to attend the official opening of the newly-restored Perseus and Andromeda fountain at Witley Court.
He is scheduled to arrive by helicopter at the English Heritage site where he will view the Jarwood Sculpture Garden before proceeding to the ruined stately home to see restoration plans and view William Nesfield's parterre gardens.
He was then expected to be invited to fire up the spectacular Perseus and Andomeda fountain. With its main 90ft water jet and dozens of smaller ones, it was dubbed as England's answer to the "Trevi" fountain in Rome.
The 19th Century sculpted fountain fell into disrepair in the 1930s.
But a £725,500 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund restored the site to its former glory.
Continuing onto the neighbouring St Michael and All Angels church, the Prince will meet those involved in the restoration and care of the church.
Prince Charles will be following in the footsteps of Edward VII, the then Prince of Wales, who visited the fountain in its heyday.
