EXPRESS 88 travelled to Worcester for this Sunday Division One clash with Coppertops.
COPPERTOPS 1, EXPRESS 88 4
After going down 4-2 at home earlier in the season, Express were seeking revenge and were rewarded with a 4-1 victory.
With both sides having a fair share of the play early on, it was Express who took the lead when Lee Hooper crossed from the right to Jason Jones who shook off his man before slotting the ball home for 1-0.
Coppertops were unfortunate not to equalise soon after when Dean Spiers found Darren Wade but his fine strike was expertly saved by keeper Dave White to keep the score 1-0 at half time.
In the second half Express began to up the tempo and continued pressure saw them extend their lead when debutante Owain Rowat crossed to the far post to Sean Clarke, his neat touch found Jones to put Express 2-0 up.
Shortly after the game was pretty much wrapped up when Clarke's header found Hooper and from all of 30 yards he drove his shot into the bottom corner for 3-0.
With Jones searching for his hat-trick he saw numerous opportunities go astray until eventually a poor goal kick fell at his feet and he took the ball on and finished well from close range.
Coppertops consolation goal came with ten minutes left when Scott Mason's mis-timed challenge saw the referee point to the spot and the penalty was converted.
