ANDY Keast heaped more praise on Worcester's pack following their demolition job on Exeter Chiefs.

The Warriors rolled the Devon side over with six forward-based tries as they, for the second week in succession, punched their weight in the pack.

"I've got nothing but admiration for the pack," said Keast. "We've always said we wanted to play a 15-man game and we are getting that now. They give us such control and I have to say the scrum and lineout was fantastic.

"There is a lot of hard work that goes into that, however. John Brain (Worcester's director of rugby) is a bit of an anorak on the lineouts and he spends an awful lot of time on that. Technically, he is also very good and I think you can see that with our scrum.

"He's made that pack very good technically but despite that, you still have to work and the work ethic is first class. When everything comes together, you get the added bonus of confidence and the forwards are high on confidence at present."

The victory was the ninth in succession in National One this season and Keast believes that the all-round ability within the team is now taking the pressure off everyone as they go in search of promotion.

"If we get a penalty now, which is kicked to the corner, the players know that there is a big chance that we will score," he added. "That confidence takes the pressure off and gives the side real belief to go out and play without feeling that pressure.

"This is the best foundation that I've had in my time at the club. It's something we've worked at solidly. The praise for John and the forwards is massive but its not something which has come overnight.

"We have changed the way we train to a more power-based programme and the squad are feeling the benefit of Phil Richards' regime. They all feel stronger and I think that transmits to the driving mauls.

"Too many teams accuse us of being a one-trick pony. Rotherham did it last season and it's something we've tried hard to get away from. In the last two weeks we've played forward-orientated sides from the West Country and beaten them both comfortably. That shows we're making progress."
