IN an era dominated by computer games, electronic toys, DVDs and videos it is an absolute delight to see young children enjoying the simple world of a puppet show.
Fo-Fum Puppet Productions captured the four to eight year olds at this Malvern Theatres cinema showing, from the very first moment of their animated version of Jack and the Beanstalk.
The action began with a tiny worm inching its way across the compact scenery, holding the attention of the young audience without the aid of loud music, curtains being raised or lights going down - a feat in itself.
The puppets were stunning and the appearance of Arfur the Ogre in his Bouncy Castle was purposely designed to allay any fears the youngsters may have had about scary child-eating giants.
One of the most delightful aspects of this production was listening to the children participating in the dialogue with the puppets in true panto style.
