A LARGELY forgettable game saw Bromsgrove Rovers take a point at Clevedon Town.
Neither side seemed capable of breaking the deadlock in a dull game but George Rooney's side should be content with a clean sheet.
Apart from two Peter Sutton chances late on, Rovers spent the last 20 minutes defending as Clevedon pushed forward.
It was those two breaks involving the determined Sutton, both in the last eight minutes, that will go down as the visitors' best chances.
Firstly, Steve Hillman ran 60 yards before eventualy playing Sutton in, but he fired a shot straight at Steve Weaver.
Five minutes later Sutton was again in space but drilled an effort across Clevedon's goal, narrowly missing the far post.
It was Clevedon though who can probably lay claim to coming closest to scoring. On 29 minutes, Ollie Price rose in the penalty area and his header produced a fine one-handed save from Ian Gandy. Steve Lester also had another opportunity for the hosts when he flashed a header wide early on.
Rovers later left substitute Mark Atkinson up front and, save for Sutton's ventures forward, seemed content with a point.
ROVERS
Gandy 7, Frost 7, Hillman 6, Pope 6, Benton 7, Beckett (sub Dyson 52 mins) 6, Jackson 6, Scheppel 6, SUTTON 7*, Benbow 6, Swan (sub Atkinson 64 mins) 6. Subs not used: Banner, Dawson, Tomkins.
